Add three restorative days mastering the art of landscape painting to your luxury villa rental near Siena with award-winning artist and instructor, Tanvi Pathare.
Tanvi will be on hand to guide you as you learn to paint en plein air (“outdoors”) the breathtaking scenery on your doorstep. Enjoy two days capturing the Tuscan hills on canvas from the peace and seclusion of your private villa. And, if the frescoed walls and old-world charm of our luxury villas like Santa Gelsa aren’t enough to inspire the artist in you, a trip into the centre of Siena surely will. On the third and final day venture into the medieval centre to witness first-hand the celebrated artworks of the Sienese School.
By the end of the workshop, you will not only have learned a new skill, but you will also have produced a special artwork and souvenir of your time in Siena.
Tour Siena with an art expert
On the final day of your art retreat, Tanvi will guide you on an exclusive art tour of some of Siena’s most celebrated landmarks, tying their history back to your own painting experience. Venture back in time with a trip to Il Campo, uncover the entirely underrated and pioneering paintings of the Sienese School at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and marvel at the pink marble facade of the Cathedral.

The first two days of painting at your luxury villa will begin at 10am. Tanvi will introduce you to landscape painting before providing you with your easel, paints and canvases. You will paint together until 1pm before breaking for a relaxing lunch. Return to your easels at 2:30pm and unwind as you continue your painting until 5:30pm, just in time for aperitivo.
On the third and final day, you will head into the heart of Siena and will be given a private tour of the Museo dell’Opera and/or the Cathedral. Spend the morning exploring before breaking for lunch. In the afternoon you can either continue your museum tour or walk through the historic centre to another of the city’s landmarks.
