For a smooth day trip to Montalcino, your personal chauffeur will collect you from your luxury villa in Italy and take you to the Fattoria dei Barbi to begin your Tuscany wine experience. The award-winning estate has belonged to the noble Sienese Colombini family since the 14th-century and produced Italy’s first Super Tuscan wine. 

Here, you will enjoy a private tour of the historic wine cellar, followed by a tasting of three delicious wines. Taste the wines at the heart of Tuscany, including innovative IGP wines, Rosso di Montalcino and the iconic Brunello di Montalcino. 

Your tour will then continue at Castello Banfi, a stunning historic fortress surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Your expert tour guide will show you around this innovative estate and wine cellar, before a tasting of a further four wines. 

After your tour and tasting at Castello Banfi, sit down for a seasonal 4-course lunch in the traditional taverna paired with a local wine. Menus will be based on the local cuisine but can be made vegetarian or pescatarian on request. 

 

Choose between a guided visit to Montalcino or a third Brunello wine tasting 

To complete your wine tasting in Tuscany, choose between a guided visit to Montalcino and Pienza or a third winery tour and tasting at Podernuovo a Palazzone. 

If you’ve had plenty of wine for one day and would like to see the surrounding ancient hilltowns, a visit to Montalcino and Pienza is a perfectly peaceful way to close the experience. Your local guide will lead you through medieval streets and pause to take in panoramic views across the sublime Val d’Orcia countryside. 

Alternatively, gather your group for a final wine tasting and tour of Podernuovo a Palazzone. This beautiful contemporary winery near San Casciano dei Bagni runs on solar and geothermal power. The Bulgari family who run the estate produce innovative IGT red, white and rose wines alongside their pure sangiovese. Enjoy a tasting of three more great wines before returning to your villa in time for dinner.

The experience will begin at 10.00am with a tour and wine tasting at the Fattoria dei Barbi winery in Montalcino. You will then tour the cellar and vineyards at Castello Banfi, followed by a tasting and lunch in the winery. Choose between a 3-hour guided tour of Montalcino and Pienza or a visit and tasting at PoderNuovo a Palazzone.
