Uncover artisan Italian coffee culture in the heart of Florence
Italy’s unique bond with coffee is hardly a secret; theirs is a love affair that spans centuries. The Ditta Artigianale Coffee Culture Experience is an introductory course perfect for curious coffee lovers that will have you falling even further for Italian coffee. The experience will delve into the tradition of coffee in Italy and what makes the Italian approach so unique from the rest of the world. Simone will deepen your understanding of the history and botany of coffee in Italy; from the evolution of coffee consumption to the birth of espresso machines and coffee’s central importance within Italian culture.
Under the expert guidance of Simone, you will then be led on a tasting journey of espresso and Moka coffee, savouring the unique characteristics, flavours and aromas of each. The experience will conclude with a hands-on demonstration of how to make authentic Italian coffee using the Moka. Master the tips and tricks of the Moka technique, so you can make your coffee just as irresistibly good when you return to your luxury villa.
The Scuola del Caffè is housed in a beautifully renovated monastery; the interior is bright and modern while remaining sympathetic to the building’s sacred origins. Situated off the Piazza Sant’Ambrogio, the Scuola is the first of its kind to be housed in a coffee shop. It will nourish your mind with a fresh, unique perspective of Florence and provide an intimate peek into the masterful world of Italian coffee.
