About 4km/2.5 miles from hilltop San Gemini in a landscape of olive groves and gentle hills. The 2000-year old ruins at Carsulae are a spectacular example of Roman town planning, while San Gemini, Todi, 30 minutes, and Amelia, 25 minutes, show how Roman towns evolved in later years. Excursions might include Spoleto, 30 minutes, or, within 1 hour, Orvieto, which predates Rome and boasts our favourite duomo, Perugia with its restaurants and jazz festival, and Assisi where San Francis and Renaissance painter Giotto both made history. Great walking around San Gemini and in the more dramatic landscape just to the south, where canyoning, rafting and hang-gliding are offered.

Dear Flaminia, we can’t tell you how much we’ve enjoyed your villa! From the moment we arrived with your warm welcome, along with Sergio’s, we felt so much at home. We appreciated your basket of goodies, which we devoured as we set on the patio overlooking the beautiful view! Since this was our first time in Italy, we of course had to explore & visit other places & always looked forward to getting back at “the villa”. The pool, the game rooms, the open lawn to play frisbee gave each of us something to enjoy. We recommend Acqua e Miele to all. Bill and I hope to return one day. We drove 1.143 miles from London via Champagne, Burgundy, Verbier, Genoa and Florence, so needed a break. We’ve had the most wonderful, restful week. Sergio’s recommendations have all been excellent. Dear Simon and Marta,
As we leave our Acqua e Miele after our amazing week there, I wanted to take a moment and thank you both personally for the great service we received all along the way.
From the initial interaction, I had a good feeling that I was dealing with professionals, over time I understood that I was dealing with professionals that care about their customers and are happy to go the extra mile to make it happen.
The house itself is amazing, rustic and with character. Paola did her utmost to make us feel comfortable and Alisia cooked the best GF Italian food in the world, real homemade food that we so enjoyed.
We look forward to making this an annual event in our family, hoping that it will continue to grow and add members along the way, and will be more than happy to spend it at Acqua e Miele or one of your other properties.
