The medieval village of Arquà Petrarca (within 10 minutes' drive), a village recently awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy is the nearest village where to find restaurants, bars, enotecas and craft shops and local products shops; also a local market every Thursday morning. More shops, restaurants and supermarkets are in the nearby villages of Galzignano and Monselice. In the upper part of the garden begins a walking and cycling trail that, crossing Bosco del Colle, leads to Arqua'. The village which takes its name from the 1300s Italian poet, philosoper and philologist Francesco Petrarca, houses not only Petrarca's house but also noble mansions and Venetian Gothic style villas. The villa lies in the heart of the Colli Euganei National Park, an uncontaminated land that offers countless activities for hiking, trekking and cycling lovers.

Dear Franca, thank you for the use of your lovely home. We really enjoyed our stay here. The countryside is gorgeous – there are so many things to explore. We loved hiking and the cycling. There is so much history here! We enjoyed exploring the gorgeous botanical gardens and exploring nearby castles, and of course Arqua’ Petrarca! We have had a lovely stay at Ca’ Dogaressa. Franca has been the best host ever… she has given us fabulous advice and was very attentive to our requests. Walter has been great help too! We loved the dinner cooked by Donatella… we would recommend this to any future guests. We absolutely love the pool… such an amazing place to relax. The local restaurants that we loved were La Montanella and Osteria Lapilli. A little further away is Trattoria al Pirio with an amazing view! We loved our visit to Padova. We so enjoyed our stay. It exceeded our expectations! Franca provided wonderful tips and suggestions that made our visit extra special and allowed us to experience local life. Dear All, after a year of work, we wanted to relax on the first part of our holiday. Wowww! Relaxing turned out so well here! A little paradise where we were able to relax within a few days. Walter is here to make sure everything is nice and beautiful. He helps whenever you need him. Franca is so very sweet and is immediately there for you when you are looking for or need something. Upon arrival there was even some groceries ready for us with a bottle of wine and also her own olive oil. No words for this ultimate week. So apparently we came back! We so love this beautiful part of the world – the sunshine, the Italian cuisine, the friendly people. This time we experienced a home cooking lesson with Isabella + a home cooked meal from Donatello – both fantastic experiences that we could share with 2 of our adult children Anna & Will! This was the perfect setting for our family to get together after many years – seeing grandchildren again, a wonderful place to reconnect. Franca and Walter and Donatella are the perfect hosts – the care and attention to every detail is obvious, from the home grown olive oil to the gardens so alive, then the wonderful pizza evening with amazing frivolity and flavours – we all had a great time here. We had a wonderful week at Ca’ Dogaressa! The home and grounds are even more beautiful than the pictures! We were stunned each day waking up to the amazing views. Our family enjoyed splashing around the beautiful pool and eating our breakfast outside each morning to the sounds of doves, crickets and busy bees! Our most memorable meal was prepared by Donatella – truly the best meals we’ve eaten! We loved the panzanella salad (recipe please!), pasta, beef and the delicious peaches with cooked cream (and tiramisu) for dessert! Franca you are the best hostess, so helpful, accommodating, and kind – who made our stay so lovely! And the garden Franca and Walter were breathtaking and inspiring! Grazie Mille! Hello Franca, My husband and I spent a memorable week at your villa with my parents, brother and sister in law. We wish we had stayed for 2 weeks as the surrounding area has so much to see and do. After our day trips we all couldn’t wait to get back to the villa and the countryside. My family of six enjoyed the property very much and felt like our own home. The Villa is perfectly appointed, beds comfy and the outside pool and lounging areas were beautiful. Our two dinners made by Isabella were delicious and a real treat. Divine – a beautiful place. I can’t express enough wonderful things about the Villa, countryside, Towns and certainly Franca. She is truly a wonderful hostess. We enjoyed visiting with her. We had a very enjoyable time here. As others have said Franca is a great host. She is kind, helpful, and full of local knowledge. Franca also has lots of great restaurant recommendations so no need for me to list them here! Top tip (also from Franca): if you want to visit Padova or Venice, don't drive all the way there. Just park at the station in Monselice (a 10-minute drive) and take the train. Parking is free!

Our stay has been wonderful. La Dogaressa is so beautiful and breathes taken. We visited so many small towns and places. Our favorite restaurant was 'Lapilli'. We loved it so much that we dine there three times. We love Italy! The food, wine, and people. We enjoyed many local restaurants.

We have had such a wonderful stay here. Each of our anticipated pleasures was more than met and indeed was exceeded by the delight of meeting Franca, whose kindness + generosity, not to mention hospitality was outstanding! She, her mother, and Walder rescued us from mechanical failure. We commenced each day with a 2-3 hour walk around and concluded with a typical Italian breakfast. Amazing weather blessed us, so we appreciated the pool!

As we finish a wonderful 3 weeks at Ca’ Dogaressa we would like to thank Franca for her smiling face, endless help and information. Franca you went over and above to assist us in so many ways.
To check for ensuring everything is perfect from the pool to the house and gardens. Plus some beautiful pizza’s and Donatella and her fantastic cooking. We have loved exploring the surroundings area both by car and bike and experiencing so many of the local restaurants and wine.
Originally staying in this location was to be close to Venice but there is so much locally we never went there.
If you are staying here enjoy everything local and do not miss time at the local thermal pools.
Thank you for sharing your home with us it has been so memorable.

We have had the most wonderful stay here at Ca' Dogaressa. We were blessed with the weather and enjoyed the pool everyday. We are a family of 5 with a 7 year old girl and two boys aged 6 and 22 months.It will hold so many memories for us and will forever be the place that the 2 eldest grew in confidence as swimmers - even a 9 o'clock swim on the last night, whilst watching bats fly above our heads.
This was just perfect for our family and we don't want to leave! Our trip was so enhanced knowing Donatella would look after us the first night, Walter being on site and so helpful and with Franca (little Francesca) welcoming us and in constant communication. You were all so welcoming and friendly.

What a beautiful and peaceful villa. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and just wish it was longer! It feels like there is so much more to do and explore both locally and further afield. We loved our day trips to Venice, Padova and even the opera in Verona. A very special part of Italy and a very special place. Thank you to Donatella (delicious breakfasts + cakes!), Reika (yoga with the best views), Walter (finding the ball that kept being thrown out of the pool) and especially to Franca for being so wonderfully helpful and accommodating and going above and beyond to suggest trips and organise things for us.

Ca' Dogaressa is so beautiful, it appears to come straight from a fairy tale, but most of all it feels like home! It is a warm place, full of beautiful things collected by the sweetest family! Franca is a wonderful host, so tidy and generous, giving us the best tips for visits to the beautiful region. Walter also took great care of us and the garden. Ca' Doraressa is a true gemstone, hidden with amazing views and a beautiful pool and garden! Padua is an amazing city with such beautiful art and architecture... The different villas in the neighborhood are fantastic to explore too. Modena and Maranello offer also pleasant views. Ca' Dogaressa, it was love at first sight.. nor forever in our heart.

Our stay was fantastic. The whole family had a great time chilling out by the pool, on these hot summer days. And thank God for the air conditioner in the rooms as it was very hot even when the sun had set.
We also really enjoyed sharing our meals in the noch by the kitchen, where we could hide away from the sun for a few minutes.

A top notch Villa in a fabulous location. The pool was large and lovely, great way to cool down. Walter and Franca always available when needed at the drop of a hat.
Lots of lovely restaurants, I Ronchi was our favourite. We also liked La Morturella and the kids liked the pizzas in Ristorante Gianni.
Great location for cyclists, foodies and nature lovers but beware the boars in the woods!

Our stay has been wonderful, such a tranquil setting is good for the soul. A huge thank you to the staff who make this Villa so special. France could not have been more helpful, Walter does an amazing job with the grounds and Donatella cooked some really fantastic meals! We have enjoyed sitting back and watching the wonderful wildlife here at Ca Dogaressa. Monselice is a lovely town with great train connections. Padova is a must for a day trip.
With lots more to explore, we will have to come back again soon!.

We have just spent 2 weeks here at the villa and couldn't have been happier with our stay!
The house was stunning, the grounds and pool were spectacular, and we enjoyed swimming every day. The views were also so wonderful we were able to catch the sunrise and the sunset every day. And to top it all off, Franca was the most gracious and attentive host.
She was always available to us whether we had questions or needed recommendations, she was helpful to us.
