The Ombrone River bisects the Tuscan Maremma and some of the region’s loveliest beaches before meeting the sea in a vast, protected delta that can be explored by kayak and canoe. The nearest shops to the house are at Istia d’Ombrone, 5km/3 miles, with a broader choice just beyond at Grosseto, the Maremma’s largest town. A terrific restaurant for meat- and fish-lovers is closer at hand, 1.km/1 mile away. To the north are the remains of two Etruscan cities, Russelae and Vetulonia; to the south-east, the pretty hill town of Scansano, known for its red wine and olive oil, and to west and south, the beaches at Marina di Grosseto, 22km/14 miles, the glorious nature reserve of the Monti dell’Uccellina and the chic resort towns of the Monte Argentario peninsula.

The villa we stayed at, Il Chiesino, was an absolute masterpiece of a property. The view couldn't have been better, and the additional services we booked (chef, wine tour), along with the spa pool and sauna, putt the icing on the cake.
If you plan on inquiring about the additional services, I'd recommend the private chef/cooking lessons with Cinzia. The pricing was fantastic, and the food was exceptional. The private wine tour to Montalcino was a great way to try some of the local wines (I'd recommend the Brunello ;))
The coordination with the TN&M concierge was so streamlined and straightforward. The team there was very accommodating of our group size (we had two children) and were very responsive to any questions I had.
I honestly couldn't recommend TN&M more and can't wait to plan our follow-up trip.

We have thoroughly enjoyed staying in this place. We have made good use of the swimming pool...pizza oven...and taught the children to play poker (thanks to the poker set!)
We would recommend Castiglione della Pescaia for a day out a the beach. And awe enjoyed the local wines; we'd recommend buying from Fattoria Le Pupille, which is just down the road.

Il Chiesino is a wonderful retreat. The grounds and house are beautiful, and a wonderful place to enjoy some good food and wine with family and friends. The kids in our party had a great time at the pool, we couldn't get them out! And our son learnt to swim which will be a wonderful memory. We would definitely recommend a stay at this fabulous villa.

The panoramic views from the property are wonderful. Very easy booking process, everything ran like clockwork from the time we booked through to our departure from the villa at the end of the holiday.

We loved our holiday at Il Chiesino. The views in every direction are stunning, it is remote and a good distance away from other tourists. The villa was comfortable, spacious, clean and so easy. It had everything and more that we would want in a villa holiday. Michaela, the caretaker was so helpful, welcoming and kind. We visited some beautiful hill top towns and coastal fishing villages all within an easy 45 minute drive from the villa.
We are already planning our return - can't say better than that.

Responsive service and beautiful villa. The pictures don’t adequately show how open the floor plan is and how much space is in the villa. The views are spectacular.

The villa was more spacious than expected with more room and several floors including a wine cellar which was a lovely surprise. The cutlery could be updated/sharpened for the price but overall a well stocked kitchen. No dryer but the location atop a hill provides natural drying winds. The views are spectacular everywhere you look. Truly a beautiful place. Caretaker was friendly, responsive and accommodating. We will return!

The whole process, from initial enquiry to arriving at the villa, was very smooth. The customer service team handled all our queries promptly and efficiently and the villa caretaker and cleaner were very helpful.
The brochure pictures do not really do the villa justice. The views are wonderful and the villa itself is well equipped and very comfortable. We were a party of 7 of mixed ages who all loved Il Chiesino.

Just home from an amazing break in Tuscany. Our villa was absolutely gorgeous and exactly as shown on the website. Our host Tina could not have been more helpful and her restaurant recommendations were fantastic. The location, just outside Grosseto is brilliant if like us you are looking for peace and quiet away from the bustling tourist hotspots of Florence etc but still an easy commute from the airport and for day trips in and around southern Tuscany. From start to finish the whole process of booking was extremely simple and all interactions I had with Tuscany Now and More were excellent. The attention to detail and customer service was second to none. We also booked a private cook during our stay and she was brilliant. It was such a lovely treat to have amazing food at home during our stay as we were travelling with 4 under 3. We are already planning our return trip.

"We loved the house and the location. We were able to fully relax in our week, enjoy the huge and very clean and refreshing pool every day. We grilled on the outdoor grill and used the nice wine cellar a few times as well.
The rooms were large, and with our family we really appreciated the ability to have some space apart as well as together. The air conditioners were efficient and quiet, and due to our lovely weather had only sparing use. The kitchen is comfortable, but needs some updating with new pots and pans and some better utinsels -- not up to the standard of the price, but functional. The espresso coffee maker also was nice but we could not find capsules to use in it, so we made the more traditional coffee all week, which we liked as well for a change.
The location was superb, just 10 minutes from a nice little town Istia d'Ombrone, where we became regulars at LaMadia, a pizzeria trattoria that had just phenomenal food for our family, at prices that meant we didn't feel bad about eating out. We visited as well Fattoria le Pupille for their famous Maremma wines -- only 5 minutes away. We felt we were really in the middle of the wine region and thoroughly enjoyed every meal out.
We visited as well Castiglione della Pescaia and enjoyed the beach for a day and a stroll through the touristy and pleasant town. Wonderful seafood there that is missing in the inland areas.
Overall we decided we'b love to come back. The place was wonderful for our family and a great base for exploring the surrounding areas."

The email reminders and details about the services were helpful. We had one mis-communication about the arrival, as we called ahead of time and said when we would be there, but this information was not relayed to the actual on site person, so we had another 20 minute wait to get into the property after a long day of driving. I would suggest that Tuscany Now and More take another visit to this property as it probably needs some refreshing to stay up to date. Other than that everything was fine.

The villa was excellent with beautiful views. The caretaker was very helpful and friendly. Tuscany now responded quickly to questions before we departed. However there were a few minor issues at the villa such as bulbs not working and the bin in the laundry room was overflowing when we arrived that should have been checked before we arrived. That said we very much enjoyed our stay and will recommend the villa and Tuscany now to friends.
