Molinaccio lies just 4 km/2.5 miles from Castellina-in-Chianti, a town whose fortifications and covered walkway bore witness to many long years at the centre of battles between the people of Florence and Siena. Today its primary preoccupations are wine and olive oil but is also well served by an array of shops offering local products. Castellina is situated in the southern part of the Chianti Classico wine-producing region, just off the Chiantigiana road. Only about 45 minutes from Florence and Siena, Castellina is ideally situated for touring the multitudes of stone villages dotted among the impossibly picturesque hills, offering wonderful restaurants and wine bars tucked away in their magical, narrow streets.

Motorway exit from Siena road at San Donato and then onto Castellina-in-Chianti. Molinaccio is 10 minutes’ drive from Castellina, including a 800m/0.5 miles stony white road to the house that is not suitable for low-slung cars. Ample parking on premises.

Railway station at Poggibonsi, about 30 minutes drive.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful stay we had at Il Molinaccio. It was truly a magical experience for our family ranging in ages from 8 to 80 years old. The home and setting exceeded our expectations and made the perfect location to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday.
The villa had everything we could have asked for and more! Even things we didn’t think of were provided! It was perfectly equipped, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The grounds and gardens are simply stunning!
Angela was very responsive and helped us rectify one small issue we had with a bed very quickly and efficiently. Also, thank you to Franco who helped with this issue.
Everyone at your company and who we encountered around the villa was very kind and made the whole process very smooth. We hope to return to Il Molinaccio again someday if we are lucky enough! Grazie mille Warm regards Abby
