Poppi, located in the valley of Casentino (at 475 above the sea level), about 40km/24.8mil east of Florence and about 30km/18.6mil northwest of Arezzo, nowadays is part of the National Park of Foreste Casentinesi. The ancient medieval village of Poppi is one of the best-preserved examples of “walled city”, surmounted by the majestic castle of the Guidi Counts, the "prototype" of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, still in excellent condition. The nearest shops and restaurants are in close proximity in the centre of Poppi or Ponte a Poppi, both just a short walk from the villa. Supermarket in Ponte a Poppi and many in Bibbiena. Local farmer market in Poppi every Tuesday morning. Other nearby places of interest are Camaldoli, the Franciscan Sanctuary of La Verna 30lm/18.6mil, Falterona Mount 30lm/18.6mil and Arezzo for Piero della Francesca frescoes and an array of shops and restaurants.

The Villa location was exceptional being both peaceful and surrounded by countryside but within easy walking distance of shops, bars and cafes and historic Poppi.

Everybody loved the villa and infinity pool. The views of Poppi were fabulous!
We had an issue with one of our cars on the journey to the villa and the help we received from Emanuele and Giovanna we fantastic enabling the car to be repaired for the journey home
