Hundreds of little villages, many with a prized medieval feature, are scattered throughout these lush, hilly farmlands between Lake Trasimeno and Orvieto, 50km/31 miles. The nearest of these is Montegiove, 2km/1.5 miles, which has a bar/shop, a restaurant - and a fortress. It's a 45-minute drive to the lake's fortified promontory, Castiglione del Lago, or to Perugia, and just over 1 hour to Assisi.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful villa - it has been an absolute joy to enjoy the peace and tranquillity here - very relaxing.
A great place to explore Umbria as well as the local wildlife. Very excited to see the deer grazing in the early morning and then to all our surprise, the wild boar! In the early evening: a herd of 6. This is a very special place, and we will all take away very special memories of our week here.

Staying at La Pergola has been such a magical experience. We came with our whole family, from aged 1 to 80, and I can assure you every single one of us had the time of our lives. There was something for all of us to do; from chilled out days by the pool, to magical fairy walks in the woods, and enjoying the wonderful Boar festival!
Pasta making, scenery, food, happy family, beautiful house. This trip was truly, truly amazing filled with love and happiness in a beautiful home!!
