Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, 4 Km from Palazzo Nelle, is about half-way between Florence and Siena. The town occupies some of Tuscany's most classic countryside of rolling hills marked by olive groves, grapevines and rural farmhouses and chapels. From June to August in the centre of town takes an extensive program of events, one of all the Feast of Threshing, the third Sunday of July, with historical re-enactments farming and food and wine exhibitions and gastronomic fairs held throughout the year. Larger supermarkets in Tavarnelle (COOP) within 4 Km and in San Donato (COOP), 5 Km. Tavarnelle also has a local market on Thursday. Take a stroll or a go on a bike tour to enjoy the surrounding forests, meadows and fields of olive trees and vineyards and the numerous villages, as Barberino Val d’Elsa, Passignano and San Donato in Poggio. You can use the pedestrian-bicycle lane path of 20 km of the river Pesa, to see the Val di Pesa and the archaeological site of Villa Romana del Vergigno or go on a horseback ride along the famous Via Regia Romana. The world-famous most visited towns of the Chianti region, Radda, Panzano, Greve, Castellina in Chianti, Certaldo and Castelfiorentino are within just 15 to 20 minutes' drive. Other cities and sites of interest are just an easy drive away; Firenze (30 km), Siena (44 km), Monteriggioni (30 km), San Gimignano (25 km), Pisa (93 km), Montalcino, Montepulciano e Pienza (85 km).

I would be difficult to overstate how wonderful Palazzo Nelle was. 10 good friends from Florida had a marvelous breakfast followed by daily visits to the Tuscan countryside including Siena, Firenze, San Gimignano, Volterra and Montalcino. Home at the end of the day with cocktails by the fire then a fabulous dinner created by Chef Giuseppe.Everything was top notch and first class. Fine china fresh flowers on the table and incredible 4 course meals Best Villa we have ever visited and exceeded our expectations!

Rosanna, Matteo, Maria Letizia, Giuseppe and family, including dogs, provided graceful hospitality and warmth. Available and attentive to any needs or questions, we had very little to worry about. The villa itself is historic and comfortably appointed, with 4 self contained bedroom suites. The view was beautiful and the seating arrangement and outside dining option allows one to enjoy it. There is a pool and seating around the pool and as well one of the bedroom suites which could also be used as a pool house if the group is a family or close friends. It was a half hour drive to Florence and San Gimignano and Siena was 40 minutes away. We were able to arrange transportation to places courtesy of their assistance. They also offer several activities that you can book like truffle hunting and cooking classes and more. Dining at the chateau was very worthwhile and so fortunate to have the owner of the most popular restaurant in the region as chef (Giuseppe). There are also other quality restaurants in the nearby area. Special words of thanks to Matteo, Elisabetta and Rosanna. Would definitely recommend the experience to family and friends.

You and your family were so helpful in assisting us with our vacation needs and no request was left unanswered. Your villa is lovely and welcoming with beautiful scenery surrounding it. We truly enjoyed sipping Italian wine outdoors while enjoying the spectacular sunsets. Our rooms were spacious, very comfortable and clean. The ensuite bathrooms were large and bright with clean towels provided daily. The breakfast you served each day was delicious, fresh, healthy and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Elizabeta was always eager and happy to prepare coffees, make fresh juice and ensure we had everything we needed to start our day. Your husband is a wonderful cook and we so enjoyed the meals he prepared for us. One of our best vacations in Italy!
The villa was beautiful! The surrounding countryside was amazing too....The owners
& their family were so welcoming and the food was amazing too...everything so fresh
and right off the farm...So near so many other towns to see....Florence, Sienna, San Gimeono, Castellina, etc. We had the best 7 days...A great experience I would easily
recommend to everyone looking for something really really special!
