Overview
Podere Brogi is a beautifully restored farmhouse and barn on the edge of the Chianti, converted into a luxury residence managed superbly by the Brogi family who live 10 minutes away. You just need to read our reviews to understand the quality of the service offered and the comfort of the houses and grounds.
Some villas just have something special about them and Podere Brogi is one of these. You cross a private bridge and a short drive winds up the hill, ending under large oak trees where the garden starts and leads you across to the wonderful restored farmhouse and guesthouse. Positioned perfectly, with a line of cypress trees defining the edge of the sweeping lawns and garden, enjoying beautiful views of the countryside and of the small village of Caposelvi that sits on the other side of the small valley and is magically illuminated at night.
The fully air-conditioned main house has beautiful antique terracotta floors, beamed and arched ceilings, with spacious bedrooms all with contemporary en suite bathrooms. The modern kitchen has a professional induction cooker, whilst the pantry and cantina boast wonderful antique wooden floors. The guest house has been restored to the same high standard and offers spacious bedrooms and luxury bathrooms. There is a third building but this is dedicated to storage and is not used by anyone.
Outside the kitchen of the main house, there is a wood oven where we can arrange for a ‘Pizzaiolo’ to come and prepare pizzas, next to it there is a modern shaded dining loggia offering beautiful views of the countryside and overlooking the swimming pool. Below the dining loggia is a large paved terrace with a very comfortable seating area, this leads down to the infinity-edge swimming pool surrounded by beautifully kept lawns. The whole property runs on green power; solar energy operates both the electrics as well as the hot water. The same ecological principles are maintained in the garden, the olive groves and vineyards.
The owners offer a superb service; special evening meals can be arranged prepared by a variety of cooks, breakfasts and lunches can also be added for those looking for more of a hotel experience. This is a truly great location from where to visit the many towns and villages in the Chianti, as well as Florence and nearby Arezzo.

Dining room with vaulted ceilings leading in the very well equipped kitchen with French doors leading to a covered pergola furnished for al fresco meals overlooking the pool. The pool house is the orange building next to the swimming pool. It has a lower ground floor used as a techinal space and includes equipment related to the pool and the water circulation of the house etc. The upper ground floor is used for storage of lines & towels.
Grounds
Set within a 9.5 hectare private estate comprising of 6.5 hectares of organic vineyards and 3 hectares of woodland and fruit trees. Walking trails run throughout the property ideal for those wishing to explore the estate. The private heated, infinity-edge and gated swimming pool, 5.5 x 17m/18 x 54 feet, with hydro massage is set on a lower terrace laced with sun loungers and umbrellas for shade. By the pool there is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. A covered pergola for al fresco meals lies outside the kitchen/dining area with a wood oven and barbecue.
Assistance
Assistance is provided locally by the property's exceptionally helpful owner/caretaker, who speaks some English and lives 10 minutes away. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability.

In the Vallambra, a little green valley at the eastern edge of the Chianti region. The nearest bars, restaurants and shops at Mercatale, 3km/2 miles away. Levane and Bucine, respectively 4km/2.5 miles and 5km/3 miles, both have large supermarkets with the later also having tennis courts and a railway station. The shopping is somewhat more varied at Montevarchi, 10 minutes, with a weekly market on Thursday’s and a Prada factory outlet in addition to the essentials. The gorgeous city of Arezzo is a 30-minute drive to the east and to the west are all the villages and vineyards of Chianti, beginning with Gaiole, about 30 minutes, where tastings are offered at the cooperativo. Further afield Siena, 45km/28miles and Florence 50km/31 miles. San Gimignano can be reach in just over an hour.

Excellent in every way! Owners were available daily but not in our way. Pool is wonderful! Location allowed day trips to San Gimignano, Arezzo, Sienna, Perugia, and Florence. Rail service available in Montevarchi. Definitely you should take advantage of the villa’s chef as much as possible, her creations and service team were magnificent and at reasonable prices!

We spent a week with 12 people and it was fantastic! Walter, Anna, Cristina and team of chefs were so great - we included them in all of our evening festivities when they showed up for dinner preparations. I would highly recommend staying here for great access to Chianti region of Tuscany, major villages, towns worth visiting and proximity to the train station in Montevarchi and Florence.

The villa was situated in a beautiful position in the countryside of Caposelvi. The villa itself was immaculate with well appointed accommodations. BUT mostly the villa owners, Walter and Anna Brogi and Cristina Brogi and staff were amazing, so accommodating and treated us like family! Can't wait to go back!

The Brogi family were absolutely wonderful .They were so helpful and the meals that they prepared were so delicious. Walter, Anna, Cristina, and Cosmio went beyond their duties and it was all so appreciative. We would love to return to this gorgeous villa with the field of sun flowers. It was trip of a lifetime.

Pizza School by a professional pizza cook, it is possible on Monday. Every guest can garnish the pizza at their own liking, cooking baking. The Steak Night: If requested we can organize it on Wednesdays. The butcher comes to the villa with salami produced by him and with a large piece of meat; then cut the steaks to about three fingers thick (Florentine style).
