Villa Denise

Villa Denise is a charming villa with a private spring water swimming pool [heated for an extra fee] and air-conditioned bedrooms, hidden away within just over 20 minutes' drive from the famous sandy beaches of Versilia and the medieval city of Lucca. Recently redecorated, the house is furnished in a local country style with a blend of antiques and modern amenities such as a large flat-screen TV with Sky channels and mosquito nets on all doors and windows. The house is almost completely powered by solar energy, with two charging stations for electric cars also available to guests at an additional fee. The location, reached via a private tarmac road that winds uphill through the property's woods and olive groves, is perfect for those looking for absolute peace and privacy within gorgeous natural surroundings.

The kitchen is everything you’d expect from a Tuscan villa and will satisfy the needs of keen cooks. A billiards room provides guests with some after-dinner entertainment, whilst the upper floor is divided into two separate wings where the air-conditioned bedrooms are located, each wing accessible via its own spiral staircase from the ground floor. A large garden with a well-kept lawn leads to the spring water swimming pool with a whirlpool area for some added relaxation.

The pool terrace is equipped with tasteful garden furniture and, like the house itself, faces south onto lovely views of the surrounding hills. Shaded outdoor seating is provided by two lovely loggias, the larger one equipped with a built-in barbeque and dining area for some memorable al fresco meals. Nestled amongst the beautifully kept terraced olive groves is a grass football pitch that can also be used as a tennis court. Note that this is not a professional tennis court, and the surface may be uneven. The grounds also feature a children’s play area, so there truly something to keep everyone entertained.

Organic red and white wines along with olive oil are also produced on the estate which can be purchased locally from the lovely owners, Agostino and Elena, who live in a separate house on the large estate. The owners/caretakers offer a fantastic “house concierge” for guests; Elena is a professional chef creating magical local dishes that all our clients rave about, one such comment from our Reviews mentions: “Everything about this villa was perfect. The rooms are comfortable and the kitchen was everything needed and more. Agostino and Elena are the most gracious hosts. Cooking class was the best! Of course, Elena’s fine cooking was wonderful".

Despite the private setting, the villa is a very short drive from shops and restaurants as it is only twenty minutes from both Lucca and the white beaches of the Versilia coastline. There is a small village just a few minutes from the villa, Monsagrati, offering all the necessary basics and a few eateries if you don’t wish to travel far. Plan ahead with our Concierge to arrange meals, cooking lessons and additional maid service so that all the group’s requirements are fulfilled and your stay here is as comfortable as possible.
