Set in the village of Filettole and within walking distance the village offers shops, three bars and two restaurants, there is also a supermarket, a post office, a general store and a bakers. Weekly market on Sunday mornings. A small but very dramatic range of mountains between Pisa and Lucca, both about 20 minutes. To the south is the splendid Certosa di Pisa, about 30 minutes, a C14 Carthusian monastery full of historic oddities. To the north is Torre del Lago, 25 minutes, site of the annual Puccini Opera festival and the Puccini museum. Just beyond are the beach resorts of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. The centre of Florence is reached in just over 1 hour.

This is our fourth house through Tuscany Now and Villa Proserpina did not disappoint. It is a lovely large villa with so much character. Our group of six enjoyed all the rooms on the three floors but our favorite gathering spot was the pool area. The infinity pool and grounds were amazing! Thank you for sharing your lovely villa with us as we enjoyed our adventures in Tuscany!

This villa was very comfortable and exactly as advertised. The pool area was outstanding and a highlight of group and this trip!
I would highly recommend this Villa to anyone travelling in the Pisa area. It is very large and well furnished and supplied. We had everything we needed and were well received when we arrived. If we travel back to the Pisa area I would definitely look at staying in this Villa again, it was a delight to stay here and enjoy all the amenities!!

The property is an old Italian Manor House with modern bathrooms but retaining the old style with excellent furnishings and large airy rooms on three floors. There is a large amount of space with three sitting rooms, a library and study all large rooms with the main sitting room beautifully decorated with murals.The dining room is also large with a dining table that can seat ten and twelve if required. All five bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with the one for the master bedroom being particularly impressive. The pool area is well designed and modern and in excellent condition with an adjoining hot tub. The outside dining and sitting area is excellent. The villa is situated in Filettole twenty minutes from Lucca, however the village itself does not have much to offer.

What a delightful stay. The villa is everything and more that we would have demanded. We explored every inch of the house. An amazing meal from Maria was a highlight,. We enjoyed the pool everyday and took advantage of the amazing kitchen. We have named the kitty Greta; just adorable. Thank you for helping fulfil a dream

The Villa was everything and more that we had hoped for. The pool and hot tub were used constantly. The outdoor seating and eating area in the shade enabled us to eat all our meals outside no matter how hot it was. We had a wonderful time at the villa. The pool and hot tub were well used and the whole villa was spotlessly clean when we arrived... not quite as spotless when we left =) Visit Pietrasanta (40' driving) if you have time, a lovely village (about 2km from the coast) and the restaurant Il Borghetto del Castello at Nozzano, 5 min drive away in direction for Lucca.... delicious food. The villa was more than we could have imagined. The photos on line did not do it justice. It was beautiful, the pool was magnificent, the village was very nice. The location was perfect for enjoying Tuscany and the staff that assisted us was excellent. I can not say enough about our experience. It was very nice and thoughtful that the staff provided some basic supplies for us upon our arrival so we didn't have to run out to the store for basics

This was a wonderful place to spend a week with our family enjoying our "trip of a life time". The children loved the pool and the adults loved the food and culture of places like Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre. You have created a place where visitors can feel like they are at home... so comfortable and relaxing!

Villa was fantastic, with a brilliant build quality, recently renovated and had top kitchen appliances.
Loved the little extras left at the village on arrival inc beer/wine cold drinks, plus inflatables for the pool - kids loved it. Hosts were incredibly helpful and highly recommend the dine in chef services.

I just wanted to let you know that our recent trip to villa Prosperina was excellent. There where ten of us and we all had a wonderful week. Thank you to Tuscany Now for all your help in making this a wonderful holiday. If possible could you pass on our thanks to the staff at the villa who looked after so so well during our stay.
We will be returning to Tuscany in the near future (maybe when not quite so hot) to explore the region more, we will have no problem in using your services again and recommending to others.

Again what a wonderful week. thank you for creating such a lovely villa to holiday in. Nothing has been to much trouble for the stay, everything has been done just as requested. We hired cars but the pool and the villa where so hard to drag ourselves away from. we did manage a trip to Lucca and Pisa which was easy to get to from here. We all said we would return again when not so hot to explore the region more. The meal cooked for us on Sunday was a delight and such a wonderful setting to eat it in. Too of our party were celebrating a big birthday. What a way to enjoy with friends.

What a wonderful week!
From the lovely warm welcome from Ian and Philippa, we have had a fabulous week at Villa Proserpina!
The house is magnificent and the pool is hard to drag yourself away from. A real highlight was the 6 course feast organised by Maria Rosa and her team. We didn't have the car so frequented the local shops and used the services of the local taxi driver which allowed us to explore the delights of Lucca.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. We would highly recommend it!

Villa Prosepina was even more beautiful than the photos. I was concerned that maybe the photos had been "photo-shopped" but when we arrived we were all thrilled to be able to stay in this gorgeous place for two weeks. I highly recommend booking through Tuscany Now and More - I certainly will again!

Absolutely perfect in every way. The pool area was lovely and all of the bedrooms were ensuite - with fabulous showers! Maria, the caretaker, catered a delicious dinner for us on my birthday! We loved every moment of our two week stay
