The medieval town of San Gimignano, known for its standing medieval towers and frescoed chapels from the early Renaissance, is only 22km away. The perfectly preserved medieval village Certaldo — the birthplace of Boccaccio —is 10km away. Many other Tuscan villages of historical interest, such as Barberino Val d’Elsa (11km), San Casciano Val di Pesa (15km), and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (9km), are within easy reach in the surrounding area, including Siena (50km) and Florence (34km). If you are planning a wine-tasting, some of the most celebrated Chianti winemakers including Antinori nel Chianti Classico and Castello di Fonterutoli, as well as many small-family-run wineries, are less than an hour's drive away. The nearest restaurant, pizzeria and bar are less than a 30-minute walk away in the small medieval village Lucardo, while local farmers' markets can be found in Certaldo and San Gimignano.

Villa Salgema was the perfect venue to celebrate my 80th birthday as well as our son’s 50th birthday. Our plan was to use the villa as our base and visit several small towns nearby which is exactly what we did. All nine of us got to enjoy the wonderful Italian cuisine in a number of different towns. All of us went truffle hunting and had a wonderful truffle themed four course meal. Prior to our arrival in Italy we signed up for two cooking classes that all of us enjoyed, even our three grandsons aged 12, 10 and 7. This villa was spacious, comfortable and extremely secure. Stefania was available whenever we had questions or concerns. We look forward to returning to Tuscany when it is not so warm!!! We leave with many fond memories of Villa Salgema.

We had such a fantastic time at Villa Salgema! We came as a family of 4 during parental leave for our 4 month old baby, with our 3 years old as well. The villa is gorgeous and in a picturesque, classic Tuscan area, surrounded by vineyards. Every day we enjoyed multiple family swims in the pool, relaxing meals, and some respite from the heat in the very good A/C. we loved our dinner and breakfast by chef Nando (delicious food and enough for seven days) and super fun pizza Party by chef Alessio. Most special, though, was our host Stefy. She was so welcoming and accommodating from start to finish – helping us to check-in early due to the kids, providing great advice for a kid-friendly meal, and answering any question we had. Unforgettable days at Villa Salgema! The first trip with my wife and children to Italy. My daughter’s Helena’s 7th birthday. The discovery of landscapes, flavors, aromas and the spectacular light of the sunset, seen from the pool in this charming, welcoming, comfortable and well-equipped villa. Unforgettable moments in a special place. Dinner at sunset, breakfast with the birds. Peace and harmony with harmony. Concierge service was perfect, truffle hunting with Jacopo, wine tasting in Chianti, dinner cooked by Antonella. Thank you Alice, Benedetta and all the entire Tuscany Team! We will be back!!! We had a wonderful week at the villa Salgema. The house was beautiful and the view was outstanding. Our kids loved the pool and our adventures to Firenze, Podere le Ripi, The Giardino zoologico of Pistoia, Tenuta di Sticciano. Stefania was truly helpful with dinners recommendations. She helped reservations for us as well as for our travel to Tome. Our family had a memorable vacation here in Tuscany and will have amazing stories to share. Grazie!

We had a wonderful stay here at villa Salgema. The location is perfect with lots of small local towns to visit. We enjoyed the best wine tasting and lunch at Le Fonti san Giorgio in Montespertoli. The kids and adults in our group loved the pool and relaxing outside at the villa . We truly had a the BEST stay!

We have truly enjoyed our stay at villa Salgema! The house is well equipped and suited our group of 12 people. We really loved the setting, lovely sunsets and delicious meals outside in the garden. Location is perfect for day trip with lots of nice places nearby. David ( 10 years old) recommends this place for pool parties and we have enjoyed every minute of our stay!

We had a fabulous two weeks stay at villa Salgema. The villa is exactly as pictured, tastefully decorated with room for everyone and spectacular views. There is a plenty of privacy and the villa has all the amenities, in addition to being truly only 40/45 minutes to Florence. Stefy was a huge help during the stay in answering questions and helping with dinner reservation.. We could not have asked for more and hope to return! Ferrucci family and friends.
