Orvieto, within just over 20 minutes from Villa Soele, tops the list of favourite hill towns with a medieval centre offering a variety of shops and restaurants. Around Orvieto are a number of local wineries to visit. Lake Bolsena - Europe's largest volcanic lake with beaches, canoe rentals and tour boats is only 20 minutes away by car. Other possible day trips from Villa Soele include: Todi, the ceramic workshops in Deruta, the spas of San Casciano dei Bagni and many places of cultural and architectonical interest like Perugia, Cortona, Montepulciano, Lake Trasimeno, Siena, Rome, Tivoli, Spoleto, Assisi and Florence. The nearest small villages from Villa Soele with a few bars and grocery shops are Lubriano, 5 minutes away by car, or Castiglione a Teverina within 10 minutes. A visit to the ancient village of Civita di Bagnoregio, an Etruscan treasure at 15 minutes drive sitting on top of a volcanic rock which can be reached only by footpaths, will take you back in time.

It is with much regret that we leave this beautiful place tomorrow. We have had the privilege of staying here for one week and enjoying the best hospitality. We spent the final week of our summer ’24 vacation at Villa Soele and we couldn’t be happier with our choice of accommodation. The house was absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. We were also very impressed by the attention to details – the artwork and comfort for guests at the house. The breathtaking views from the property is something we will always remember! We swam almost always – our children (15, 13, 10) would make this their favourite activity at the house. Special thanks to MARILENA for her excellent culinary skills – we ate some of the best pastas (Amatriciana and Alla Norma), the best secondis (pork and saltimbocca) and amazing desserts (panna cotta and tiramisu) for dinners. She was a lovely and familiar face to greet every morning for our breakfasts – we will miss that! Thank you for sharing this place and for making us feel at home during our stay! We have had the most amazing time at Villa Soele celebrating our 50th Anniversary with our friends. We are 4 couples celebrating Anniversarios of 50 years + one 25 years marriage! Elena, we felt the love and attention that went into your beautiful home. Your attention to detail in making your villa welcoming is unsurpassed by any place we have been to. Marilena – your expertise as a chef was so appreciated by all of us. Your attention to detail and your willingness to accommodate even the pickiest culinary request was so appreciated. Your hard work did not go unnoticed and we all appreciate your efforts on our behalf more thank you can imagine. The Villa proximity to all of the places we wanted to visit was wonderful! We went to Orvieto, Todi and Perugia. The history in these beautiful cities was unbelievable. We will never forget this visit and our memories. We are arrived on the 14th of August, for us the hottest day of the year. We had a worm welcome of Marilena and later also Elena. We enjoyed our stay here at Villa Soele and the delicious prepared food of Marilena. Our visit to Bagnoregio, Orvieto and Lago di Bolsena were fantastic. Swimming and relaxing at the Villa was very nice. The last evening was the crown on our family week. Very much would like to come back next year.

The Villa was so beautiful and in the best location.
The Villa was beautiful beyond words. The owners and staff couldn't do enough for us. We were 7 couples and we had more then enough room. Plenty to do at the Villa and surrounding towns.
We had breakfast every day and dinner four tomes Marinella, (our chef) was very accommodating to special diet needs and requests.

The villa was way beyond our expectations with more rooms that we could imagine and furnished with exquisite details (including a massive library). The second building worked well for my daughter's family and the pool was a lifesaver in the heat. I would return in an instant. The villa is situated high on a hill surrounded by vineyards with magnificent views, yet it is close to a delightful town with excellent restaurants and shops. Where else can you go and have your own personal winery on the property?

Beautiful Villa, elegant but comfortable for our family of 12 including 4 children under 11 years old. Pool adjacent to the Villa was great feature for the children while the expansive, private grounds wit varied seating were a relaxing respite for the adults.
